Privacy Policy

Information you provide

When you use PathScorer, you provide career-related information: your current job title, industry, skills, years of experience, education level, target salary, and location. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not collect your name, phone number, or government ID.

Information collected automatically

We collect standard usage data including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent, and referring URLs. This is used solely to operate and improve the service. We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions and remember your preferences.

Analysis data

We store the results of your career analysis — matched occupations, scores, salary data, and any transition plans — so you can access them later. This data is linked to your account if you are signed in, or stored temporarily (7 days) as a guest.

To provide the service

Your career information is passed to our analysis pipeline — which uses BLS OEWS salary data, O*NET occupation data, and AI models — to generate your career match report. This is the primary use of your data.

AI processing

Career analysis uses large language models via third-party APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI). Data sent to these APIs includes your career profile but not your email address or personal identifiers. We have data processing agreements with these providers that prohibit them from training on your data.

Service improvement

We use aggregated, anonymised usage patterns to understand how the service is used and to improve our matching algorithms. We do not use individual profile data for this purpose.

Communications

If you create an account, we may send transactional emails (e.g. your analysis is ready, password reset). We will not send marketing emails without your explicit opt-in.

We do not sell your data

PathScorer does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

Service providers

We share data with trusted vendors who help us operate the platform: cloud hosting (infrastructure), payment processing (Stripe — for paid plans, Stripe handles payment data directly and we receive only a token), and AI inference APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI). Each provider is contractually bound to process data only as directed by us.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

Account data

We retain your account and analysis data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your career profile and analysis results within 30 days. Email addresses are purged within 90 days (to process any final billing or service notifications).

Guest data

Analysis results for unauthenticated sessions are automatically deleted after 7 days.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You may export your analysis data at any time from your account settings. To delete your account and all associated data, go to Account Settings → Delete Account. For any data request not covered by self-service, email us at privacy@pathscorer.com and we will respond within 30 days.

We use industry-standard safeguards: data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a cost factor of 12. We conduct periodic security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We also use analytics cookies (first-party only) to measure aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this will prevent you from staying signed in.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
